Most people may have a trouble spot that they wish they could fix – and for many that is their double chin. Whether it’s from age, weight loss or genetics – a double chin or weak jawline is a common problem area for men and women of all ages.

Fortunately, there is a way to visibly reduce a double chin and improve your chin profile through a non-invasive procedure offered at Richmond Cosmetic and Laser Clinic.

Belkyra (also known as Kybella in the United States) is a revolutionary injectable that can reduce fat in the area beneath your chin in as little as two to four treatments and is the only FDA-approved injectable for fat reduction underneath the chin.

A patented formulation of deoxycholic acid – which is a naturally occurring substance in the human body – Belkyra targets and eliminates fat cells to restore definition to the neck and jawline. Sessions can be done in less than 30 minutes and with mild to moderate downtime, following a consultation with Dr. Dr. Sahiholnasab (Sahih).

Note: The consultation process is an integral part of your treatment with Belkyra, as up to 50 per cent of those who request it are not a good candidate for a variety of reasons, including loose skin and little fat or too much fullness and fat in the neck area. In both these cases, a client could end up with “cobra neck” – a rare complication that occurs when the centre of the neck has too much fat or tissue removed.

Other uses for Belkyra include reducing or eliminating:

Jaw jowls

Bra bulge (front or back)

Elbow and arm fat

Bulging knees

Stubborn belly fat

Pubic-area fat

As with all injectables, it’s important to plan your treatment accordingly and it is advised to not have any special events scheduled for two weeks following your procedure.

At least two weeks before, avoid anything that can cause skin irritations and one week prior do not take any blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, herbal supplements, such as garlic, ginseng, ginkgo biloba, St. John’s Wort, omega-3 or Vitamin E.

Please note, it’s advised to avoid alcohol 24 hours before your first session.

For more information and to map out your treatment plan, contact Richmond Cosmetic and Laser Clinic today to book your free consultation today.

Temporary dermal fillers are a non-invasive and quick way to freshen up your look and create a smoother, more younger-looking face.

Whether you’re plumping up your pout or filling in deeper lines and wrinkles on your face, the proper aftercare is important to reduce post-injectable bruising – the most common side effect from injectables.

After you’ve received your consultation and decided on your procedure with Dr. Sahiholnasab (Sahih), the next step is preparing for your appointment. Here’s what to avoid before you go in:

No alcohol for 48 hours before your procedure

Skip the multivitamins – especially vitamin E – for at least three days prior to your appointment

Avoid the following supplements and medications one week prior to your procedure:

Aspirin

Ibuprofen, Advil or Motrin

St. John’s Wort

Fish Oil

Flaxseed Oil

Omega 2

Ginko

Ginseng

Garlic

Glucosamine

After your procedure, some simple steps can help to decrease your bruising:

Avoid alcohol for up to 48 hours after your injections

Pass on any vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours

Wait 24 hours before applying makeup where you had injections

Apply ice packs and Arnica gel to the injection site to help you heal and lessen the chance of bruising

Indulge in some fresh pineapple – it contains bromelain – which can help decrease bruising.

It is also recommended to have injections done one to two weeks before any major events or plans.

If you’ve ever wanted to give your face a more youthful and smooth appearance, but don’t want to make it a permanent decision, then temporary dermal fillers are the perfect choice.

Offered at Richmond Cosmetic and Laser Clinic, this quick and effective procedure can freshen up your look with little downtime.

Dermal fillers are soft, gel-like substances – usually hyaluronic acid – that are injected under the skin. This popular treatment is minimally invasive and can address a number of common concerns, including smoothing of deep under-eye bags/circles, lifting of the cheekbones, adding volume to lips, smoothing lip lines and nasolabial folds and even the rejuvenation of hands.

Following a thorough consultation with Dr. Sahiholnasab (Sahih) to ensure the best results based on your unique needs, you can begin the process to smoother, younger-looking skin with minimal downtime and pain.

Most dermal fillers last up to six months, making them the perfect option for those not looking to make a permanent change to their face.

Following your appointment with Dr. Sahih, your aftercare will be minimal, some tips include:

Applying ice to your injection site to help with swelling, itching or bruising.

Avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours, as an elevated blood pressure and heart rate increase your chances of bruising or swelling.

Stay hydrated and avoid excess sodium.

Ready to learn more? Contact Richmond Cosmetic and Laser Clinic to book your free consultation today!
